Our Story

The beginning

What began as a graduation trip to New York in 2011 — and a spontaneous decision to join a letterpress workshop — snowballed into something much bigger than we ever expected.

Somewhere between inky fingers and the satisfying thud of type hitting paper, we were hooked. That same week, we found ourselves bidding on eBay for a 70-year-old Vandercook SP15 proof press. We won. Then came the real challenge — figuring out how to ship the ol’ girl back to Singapore.

Young and impulsive? Definitely. But also wildly curious. That machine became the heartbeat of our very first studio.

Soon after, we added a Chandler & Price platen press to our growing collection — drawn to its rhythm, history, and stubborn charm. Together, the Vandercook and C&P became our training ground, our playground, and the foundation of what would grow into The Gentlemen’s Press.

And that’s how The Gentlemen’s Press began — not from a business plan, but from ink, curiosity, and a couple of heavy machines we couldn’t say no to.

“We're small, but curious. We geek out over paper, pressure, and process — and we're always open to trying something new.”

14 years and going.

Today, The Gentlemen’s Press is still guided by that same spirit — curious, hands-on, and proudly inky. We’ve grown beyond letterpress to explore hot foil, silkscreen, die-cutting, embossing and more, always chasing new ways to bring ideas to life in print.

We’ve worked and grown with brands, creatives, and couples from all over — but our approach stays personal and craft-driven. Every piece gets the same care we gave our very first.

We also run hrvst.store, our in-house label for print goods and seasonal experiments. It’s where we play, explore, and push the boundaries of what we can be.

Still learning. Still growing. Still excited every time the press starts up.
